Piezoelectric ceramics are polycrystalline materials with piezoelectric effects, and their production processes are similar to those of ceramics (such as raw material crushing, molding, and high-temperature sintering), thus receiving widespread attention.
Some anisotropic crystals undergo deformation under mechanical force, causing relative displacement of charged particles, resulting in positive and negative bound charges on the surface of the crystal. This phenomenon is called the piezoelectric effect. This property of crystals is called piezoelectricity. Piezoelectricity was discovered by the brothers J. Curie and P. Curie in 1880. A few months later, they used experiments to verify the inverse piezoelectric effect, which means that when a voltage is applied to a crystal, the crystal undergoes geometric deformation.
