The ultrasonic extraction vibrating rod equipment utilizes the cavitation effect generated by ultrasonic pressure to enhance the water’s ability to move plants, solvent penetration, and improve extraction efficiency. Ultrasonic extraction technology is used to extract lavender essential oil and mugwort essential oil, and the process conditions are accelerated and environmentally friendly.
Ultrasound is a type of electrical mechanical vibration wave, which is fundamentally different from vibration waves. Because vibration waves can propagate in a vacuum, while ultrasound must propagate in a medium of water. When it passes through the medium, it forms the entire process including expansion and compression. In liquid, the expansion process forms negative pressure. If the ultrasonic energy is strong enough, the expansion process will generate bubbles or tear the liquid into very small holes. These holes immediately close, generating high-pressure instantaneous pressure upon closure, known as cavitation.
Lavender essential oil and mugwort essential oil utilize the above effects of ultrasound to generate high temperature (increasing solubility and diffusion coefficient) and high pressure (increasing permeability and transmission rate) on the contact surface between organic solvents (or water) and solid matrix, combined with the oxygen oxidation energy of free radicals generated by ultrasonic decomposition, thus providing high extraction energy.
