The vibrator of a 60W multi frequency ultrasonic cleaning transducer often uses a full wavelength piezoelectric transducer with a working frequency between 17 and 40kHz. For such a frequency, if two piezoelectric ceramics are used to manufacture the transducer, its thickness will be 40 to 100mm. It is difficult to manufacture such thick piezoelectric ceramic sheets in terms of technology. Even if manufactured, due to its low Q value and excessive energy consumption, its efficiency is still quite low and has no practical value. In addition, in the resonant state, the amplitude of the transducer composed of a single piezoelectric ceramic plate is also very small. Therefore, in terms of material usage, non piezoelectric materials with low expansion coefficient and high Q value are designed to replace the two ends of the transducer. The performance of the transducer manufactured in this way is much improved compared to the transducer originally composed of only a single ceramic material. This type of transducer is called a sandwich piezoelectric transducer.
