The dual frequency ultrasonic transducer is an important core component of the ultrasonic system, which converts the electrical signal of the system into ultrasound and returns it to the system for imaging. The reason why the ultrasonic transducer is the core of the whole system is that the quality of the original signal sent back by the transducer to the system is, as people usually say, “dusty”. System engineers can use various powerful signal processing algorithms to optimize image modeling, and the quality of the original signal is an important basis for improving image quality. Now let’s understand the main working performance of ultrasonic transducer.
- Working frequency of ultrasonic transducer: the design of the working frequency of the transducer involves the attenuation of the acoustic medium relative to the ultrasonic energy, the reflection characteristics of the tested object relative to the ultrasonic (such as defects), the background noise and radiation impedance of the acoustic medium. There are many factors that affect the working frequency of a transducer, such as the frequency of the excitation electrical signal, the design of the transducer component structure, the range and limitations of the transducer’s working principle, and the physical characteristics of the transducer.
- Impedance characteristics of ultrasonic transducer: in the detection system, the function of the transducer can be equivalent to the circuit element. The circuit equivalent impedance analysis method shows that the working characteristics of the transducer, the impedance characteristics of the transducer and the working mode of the sensor The assembly structure of the transducer itself is closely related to the material characteristics of the transducer element. The impedance characteristics of the transducer must match the impedance of the transmission circuit of the device to achieve resonance transmission characteristics.
- Noise level of ultrasonic transducer: due to the internal resistance of the transducer, the thermal movement of molecules (or atoms) on the lead or load, the transducer has a constant voltage output even if the external sound pressure is zero. That is to say, the noise voltage is not significant, and like the value of the sensor, sensitivity is not important.
- Direction factor of ultrasonic transducer: the detection technology usually requires the transducer to have clear directivity. The use of centralized flash lighting is conducive to the centralized transmission of energy, achieving higher signal-to-noise ratio during reception, and also facilitating the positioning and evaluation of inspection objects.
